Tower Hamlets Community Legal Service Partnership
Tower Hamlets CLSP brings together legal advice service providers, funders and other key stakeholders to improve access to and delivery of legal advice services in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. ADP was contracted by the CLSP as part of its role in developing and improving co-ordination of advice provision. ADP worked with the CLSP to produce a report on the implementation plan for an income maximisation project in the borough. ADP considered areas of development for a benefit and tax credit take up service, a debt advice service, volunteer training, placement and support, linking projects together, governance, management, co-ordination and accountability and monitoring systems. In addition, ADP carried out research into how best the advice needs of the local Somali community could be met. This involved considering the availability and methods employed by current and proposed services, considering how Somali social welfare organisations could participate in income maximisation projects and how support could be provided to ensure an effective service was delivered to the Somali community.
